Job Description
Nursing staff are healthcare professionals responsible for providing direct patient care, supporting doctors and other healthcare providers, monitoring patients' health, administering medications, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients. They work in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and community healthcare settings.
Key Responsibilities
Assess patients' health conditions and record medical histories.
Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to physicians.
Administer medications, injections, and intravenous (IV) treatments as prescribed.
Assist doctors during examinations, treatments, and medical procedures.
Provide wound care, dressing changes, and other nursing interventions.
Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, medications, and home care.
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
Ensure infection prevention and control practices are followed.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide first aid or life support when required.
Coordinate with doctors, therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
Ensure patient comfort, safety, and emotional support.
Operate and maintain medical equipment according to protocols.
Follow hospital policies, nursing standards, and ethical guidelines.
Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff or nursing assistants, when applicable.
